A Day Of Rest

One Single Impression: Rest
ClockThe boss walks in, says
"What-You worked only twelve hours?!!"
-resting is for wimps.

He talked with fervor,
Bashing gays and liberals
-not needing a rest.

CribBaby in cradle
sleeps for three hour intervals
-no sleep for mother.

  1. Edward,
The need for rest in each of these comes through! Exhaustion can be a tyrant!

  2. No, not a nice boss, but sure sounds familiar. Moms and dads don't get much rest in the early years, do they? Good, up to the times poems.

  3. All three of these are great! I nod my head! Those who bash often never come up for air... *sigh* And, that sounds like our youngest when he was a baby...

  6. I've raised a couple babies (not mine by birth, but my roommates', so I was the "other mother") in decades past. I remember all too well what you so clearly get across in that third 'ku. :-)
