The angels came late one night
-showed her the Stairway.
When she saw him there,
It brought back her grandfather
-she helped him up stairs.
The Coach had us run
Up and down the school's stairwells!
-this before practice.
All that he could say-
"This is a one way stairway"
over and over again.

An excellent set of verses which I very much enjoyed reading.
Well done, Edward. I love the timeless image of angels helping find the stairs.
I love that photo.
They are all too good to pick a favoite.
A stairway for all occasions, each to their own use or need. All lovely!
Loved the first and second. The third reminded be of high school basketball practice and I'm not quite sure about the fourth.
Enjoyed all of these. You always manage to to find many different angles to look at things in your haikus.
The first two haiku are so full of longing-- one looks at the stairway as future and the second as the past. Nice.
Each haiku provoked a different feeling...and I love your photograph. Beautiful!
the second reminds me of the times i think i see my dad out of the corner of my eye...the way someone moves, his hat, his height. this 'ku captures that feeling of wanting to reach out in those moments
tender-biting posts. but i especially love the first set...it sounded hopeful
A great selection of stairways in our life!
Oh, what lovely stairway words and thoughts.
oh my gosh, so enjoy yr kuz.. they always touch a corner of humanity often hidden in everyday life... thank you over and over again..
..to "touch a corner of humanity often hidden in everyday life" is poetry as i imagine it to be..for the sound of the footsteps of life..many thanks..
So many possibilities from one simple idea.
Wonderful Haiku!
Each a separate idea …
so original.
I enjoyed all of your poems and the stairwell image too. I participated twice again this week ... once at Sacred Ruminations and also at Small Reflections ... just because ;--)
Hugs and blessings,
A nice variety of approaches to the stairway. :)
