A long line of photographs
-where are they all now?
He jumped up on me,
Looking up with those brown eyes
-single memory.
At night you come back,
And we live those times again
-the way we should have.

We sang old songs as sun baked
-slow death by chiggers.
Picnic blanket spread,
I read poetry to you
-breeze goes well with wine.
Hiking through woods,
We saw a deer in clearing
-looking back at us.
Sun shines on lush lawn,

Bringing him to the park's swings

As he polished shoes,
Bugs festered in sagging skin

Sheriff standing guard,
