Little girl gliding,
All pliés and grand jetés
-hopes for Nutcracker.
From on top of hill,
I saw car skidding to crash
-particles fly out.
Baseball rolls to bush,
Tried to find it, felt fur,-snarl!
-set world record sprint.
Drops trickle down slope,
Cutting deep eddies in earth
-behold, a canyon!
Tall case clock chimes twelve,
Pendulum swings to and fro
-waiting morning’s glow.

One Single Impression: Movement
the second one is scary.
ReplyDeleteliked the first and last 'kus
And they move perfectly into the mind.
ReplyDeleteI was that little girl. Alas, no Nutcracker for me!
ReplyDeleteI didn't document it, but I once set a World Walking on Water and Climbing a Tree Record when my canoe overturned next to a 12-foot alligator! True!
Ah, the canyon. Some movement reaches deeper than others.
ReplyDeleteI like the one about the clock - waiting!
ReplyDeleteThe fourth one is very good.
ReplyDeleteAnd second one hits hard!

I remember a day like this one, and got the mark to prove it. Still laughing.
..zooming in on the movement(s) of life itself..insightful..many thanks..
ReplyDeleteThese were all so good...I loved the first one! You nailed 'movement' with each and every one. :~)
ReplyDeleteI like the back and forth of controlled and uncontrolled movement in your poems. Nicely done.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for that third one! I needed a good laugh. I certainly hope that feeling hand was not hurt, though. :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Edward--
ReplyDeleteI liked all these--but espcially the growling fur one! A little tingle...and a smile!
Thanks for all these--
Edward, I liked the first one the best (if my liking it counts).
ReplyDeleteYou did a good sayonara at midnight, the writer's tired. (I had an encore for my ending.)
Thank you for these.

great series. the 2nd one was definitely intense.. like the bit about particles.
ReplyDeletenutcracker...absolutely, was played constantly... tutus... cannot help but smile and remember... the beauty of a movement forming a canyon...
ReplyDeleteThese are great moments of movements. I liked them all -
ReplyDeleteYes, good ones on movement. I like the one waiting for morning's glow very much.
ReplyDeletechildhood experiences (baseball fur) I can feel the snarling snap at my fingers
