Fast Go and Slow Mo

Little girl gliding,
All pliés and grand jetés
-hopes for Nutcracker.

From on top of hill,
I saw car skidding to crash
-particles fly out.

Baseball rolls to bush,
Tried to find it, felt fur,-snarl!
-set world record sprint.

Drops trickle down slope,
Cutting deep eddies in earth
-behold, a canyon!


Tall case clock chimes twelve,
Pendulum swings to and fro
-waiting morning’s glow.

    I was that little girl. Alas, no Nutcracker for me!

    I didn't document it, but I once set a World Walking on Water and Climbing a Tree Record when my canoe overturned next to a 12-foot alligator! True!

    childhood experiences (baseball fur) I can feel the snarling snap at my fingers
