Kneeling at her grave,
I looked up at the clear sky
-then I cried blue rain.
She sat across from me,
Telling me story of their love
-now about to cry:
since break up, no place to go-
memories everywhere!
Neverending rain,
Tourists went elsewhere, cafes closed
-was called Monsoon June.

One Single Impression: Blue Rain
What a poignant, beautifully written take on the prompt Edward. I enjoyed reading each verse.
ReplyDeletePoignant and melancholy. Different from your norm, I think, but excellent.
ReplyDeleteWonderful...the first one packed a very powerful punch.
ReplyDeleteOh, these poems engulf me and make me feel the loneliness. Well done, Edward.

I'll cry blue rain when Adi* dies.
I've been a bore I know, love's gone.
Pray for some rain, we're in a drought.
*(Adi is my 13-year-old beagle dog)

We were touring in Tuscany, Italy, and stopped in Cortona. We were going to eat but the rains came and the cafes were closed until seven PM.
(Cortona, Tuscany, is the etruscan town of 'Under the Tuscan Sun' authored by Frances Mayes.)
