For the Prompt: Glory
For OneSingleImpression
Two different ways to look at the subject.
Just for you:
1. Always having lost,
I was surprised when he fell
-and I could pin him!

And from last year:
2. Tyrants talk,
As troops march across a border
-children cry many tears.

Thanks for participating again! The second one offers a perspective on conquest that turns the idea of glory on its head. Thanks for this.
Writing in Faith: Poems
I'm all for turning traditional paradigms of glory on their head.
"children cry many tears" Unfounded glory. I'm in agreement with Sandy Carlson and Watermaid.
I love the way both imply glory. Great take!

Nice. I especially like number two. Powerful lines.
Powerful words!
..in victory,or defeat,
glory lies hidden.the context sometimes is key..
You won the wrestling match! Awesome. :)
The first poem was fun. I feel that exhilaration and wonder. Fun! The 2nd is so powerful for me. How do a few tyrants get the power from us so that we simply march off to war? Because we keep believing them that it is the right thing to do. But the children continue to cry. Their tears have filled heaven many times and nothing is done. And we are guilty.
