For One Single Impression: Melody
A long time ago,
I heard a beautiful song
-it has stayed with me.
With painted faces,
Children danced in the sidewalk
-their summer revels.
Trapped in a chamber,
Gargoyles hissed their melody
-driving him insane.

Love the last haiku. Was it the priest or the organist driven insane?
I like the first one with it's plain speaking statement of a truth. The last one reminds me of the story, "The Man in the Iron Mask". Perhaps we are all locked up in some ways and we all have our own "demons" whispering in our ears. Whenever poetry prompts thinking, you have a job well done.
The first one is so simple and yet says so much.
"I heard a song...it stuck with me..." and all the memories attached to it...thanks.
Last one is my favorite.
Ahh, those melodies stay...Nice post!
The summer revels makes me think of the pipes of Pan!
